What Is BDSM And Fetish

Posted on September 8, 2021September 8, 2021 By admin No Comments on What Is BDSM And Fetish

BDSM and fetish (abbreviated BDSM (f)) is a psychosexual subculture that includes 4 completely different directions in which the receipt of pleasure or arousal occurs for different reasons and in completely different ways, although it was not customary until 2009 in Russia to refer to this fetish subculture, because the abbreviation BDSM or BDSM has become more widespread:

B / d, B / d – Bondage and discipline, Bondage & Discipline;

D / s, D / s – Domination and submission, Dominance & submission;

CM, SM – Sadism and Masochism, Sadism & Masochism;

Fetish or Fetishism, Fetish or Fetishism.

Various role-playing games in bed, sex in handcuffs, strapon sex, fisting and other forms of sexual contacts are not directly related to BDSM and fetish subculture, just as, for example, the play of a small child with a set of “young doctor” is not related to medicine. Although, nevertheless, many representatives of the BDSM and fetish subculture began with often some kind of role-playing games, rough sex, sex in handcuffs, etc., and also periodically practice just such forms of sexual contacts, sometimes preferring the classic conventional ones.

Bondage and discipline means a session (s) consisting of a set of certain BDSM influences: physical or / and psychological. The basis of B / d are practices and actions aimed at reminding and indicating by the Upper partner (Top) to the lower partner (bottom) their positioning, humiliation, moral insults (without humiliation of human dignity).

Dominance and submission means a relationship that was initially built on the basis of the difference in positioning. Since D / s do not mean just periodic sessions or games or a set of practices, but still exists only in the form of permanent relationships, akin to vanilla permanent relationships, or even more so marriage, they exist only in the format 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which is abbreviated to be called 24/7 or LS (from the words Life Style). The collar in D \ s is a symbol of the submissive partner’s belonging to the Dominant. Any Thematic practices, as well as certain types of sex in D / s, may take place, but they are not precisely the basis of D / S. These types of sex and practices are related to, as in the case of vanilla (non-thematic relationships), only two in a relationship.

Sadism and Masochism mean various physical BDSM practices and influences, during which the Masochist releases endorphins or hormones of happiness and adrenaline, while the Sadist enjoys more and more often from the Masochist’s reactions to influences, with sufficient experience and from controlling emotions through his actions and the changing state of the Masochist in the course of action.

Fetishism is getting pleasure or excitement through the perception of the object of desire by one or another sense organs, which is often certain parts of the body, elements of clothing, certain materials from which clothes, uniforms, tools, etc. are sewn. The most common fetishes : foot fetish (foot fetish), skin fetish, latex and vinyl, boot fetish (foot fetish), honey fetish (from fetish for medical clothes to fetish, for example, for certain medical procedures), hand fetish, hair.

More often than not, fans of one or another part of the BDSM and Fetish Topics also practice something from other parts of the subculture, that is, in its pure form, fans of only one or another direction of the Topic practically do not meet.

Positioning existing in the subculture.

Upper:

in B / d, the Upper partner is usually called Top;

in D \ s – House or Domina; such words as “Master”, “Master”, “Mistress” and “Mistress” are appropriate only from the mouth of the lower partner, who is in constant relationship with the Upper partner;

in SM – a Sadist or a Sadist, more respectfully – a Master, provided that he is really a Master, that is, for example, the indicator is that the Upper does not leave traces, and even more so physical and psychological trauma to the lower as a result of practices;

Switch (or switching): a

separate switch, changing its positioning with different partners, is more common in B / D and D / S, less often in SM;

a mutual switch can change its positioning with the same partner, it is quite normal and frequent, and a useful phenomenon in SM and some individual BDSM practices like bondage.

Lower:

in B \ d it is customary to call it a bottom;

in D / s – just a lower or a sub, in the case of a relationship with a sub, a sub, a slave, a slave, and it is appropriate only from the lips of the Upper partner, with whom the fact of a voluntary transfer of permanent power occurred;

in SM – Masochist or Masochist, I immediately want to clarify that a black masochist or black masochist is usually called a person who enjoys only certain SM practices and influences, you should not confuse this with the level of pain threshold and sensitivity of the lower partner, which is often done recently some people who do not have sufficient knowledge and experience in the topic.

This subculture is distinguished from criminally punishable actions by the principles of “Safe, sane, consensual”, which, due to the mistaken beautiful literary translation in the 90s, massively spread as “Safety, Reasonableness, Voluntariness” or BRD:

1) the coherence of actions, practices or relations, which is confused with voluntariness,

2) adequacy or sanity, the presence of common sense in both partners, who are often confused with rationality,

3) adherence to safety techniques with a sufficient amount of knowledge necessary for certain BDSM practices, the word “safety” in this the case is not entirely appropriate, since almost any BDSM practitioner can end up with psychological or physical trauma, marks on the lower body, as well as death.

Because of the third principle, BDSM is more consistent with the principle of Risk-aware consensual kink or RACK, which is based on study and understanding. You must learn as much as possible about your practices and be aware and take the risk. If you understand what the risks and what are the risks and you do it voluntarily, then practice. There is no “safe or not”, it is more or less dangerous, with the necessary but sufficient knowledge of the practices, risks and safety precautions during the practice, you can reduce or eliminate the risks of possible negative consequences.
